Bus Shelter

General Description:

Bus Shelters are structures that protect passengers waiting for transit service to arrive.  A Transit Status Sign may be integrated into the shelter to provide information to riders.

Bus Shelters are not solutions in themselves.  They are a convenience and safety measure that protects riders from the elements.

There are many fabricators that make and distribute transit shelters.  The cost of a basic shelter is around $5,000 with larger and customized units costing much more.  It may also cost additional money to create the base for the shelter, and connect it to sidewalks, etc.
