Bicycle and Pedestrian Routes/Networks

General Description:
Bicycle and Pedestrian networks are a system of connected routes that provide access to and from local and regional destinations and to adjacent bicycle networks. They may include parking facilities, Lane Separation/Delineation from automobiles, and pavement markings. Bicycle and Pedestrian networks include both shared and separated facilities. These networks supplement the current automobile infrastructure by allowing individuals the opportunity to safely visit locations using bicycles or walking.
Effects of Solution:
þ Increase Passenger Throughput (Allows more visitors to enjoy the area)
¨ Increase Roadway Capacity
¨ Manage System Efficiency
þ Reduce Local Demand (Reduces number of vehicles on facilities)
