Advanced Rural Transportation System (ARTS)

General Description:

ARTS technologies provide information about remote road and other transportation systems. Examples include automated road and weather conditions reporting and directional information.  This type of information is valuable to motorists traveling to remote or rural Federal lands.  There are many different types of dissemination methods including Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), 511 travel information, and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR).
