Public Hearings
Public hearings will be held on the following dates at the following locations:
- 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., June 3, 2002: Lake
George Community Center, U.S. Highway 24 (about ½ mile
east of town; in Road & Bridge Facility), Lake George, CO
This will be an open-house meeting for the public to discuss
their concerns with the agency representatives from the Federal
Highway Administration, Pike National Forest, and Park County.
No formal presentations will be made. Displays and design plan
sheets will be available for public viewing, comment sheets
will be provided for the public to complete, and copies of the
Environmental Assessment will be available for public viewing.
- 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., June 5, 2002: Jefferson
Community Center, 96 Main Street, Jefferson, CO
This will be an open-house meeting for the public to discuss
their concerns with the agency representatives from the Federal
Highway Administration, Pike National Forest, and Park County.
No formal presentations will be made. Displays and design plan
sheets will be available for public viewing, comment sheets
will be provided for the public to complete, and copies of the
Environmental Assessment will be available for public viewing.
- 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., June 7, 2002: Commissioners
Room, Park County Offices, 501 Main Street, Fairplay, CO
This will be a formal public hearing for the public to hear
and respond to agency presentations. The Federal Highway Administration
will discuss the project design and construction schedule, estimated
costs, environmental issues and mitigation commitments. Representatives
from Pike National Forest will discuss matters related to Forest
engineering and resource management. Park County will be represented
by the Commissioners and the Director of Park County Road and
Bridge. One representative from the Colorado Department of Transportation
will also be available to answer questions. Following the presentations,
the public will have an opportunity to comment and ask questions.
Displays and design plan sheets will be available for public
viewing, comment sheets will be provided for the public to complete,
and copies of the Environmental Assessment will be available
for public viewing.
