The Central Federal Lands Highway Division (CFLHD) promotes development of applied research and technology applicable to solving transportation related issues on Federal Lands. The CFLHD provides technology delivery, innovative solutions, recommended best practices, and related information and knowledge sharing to Federal agencies, Tribal governments, and other offices within the FHWA.

This manual provides practical geophysical and NDT methods to assist highway engineers in the use of suitable techniques to evaluate problems for design, planning, construction, or remediation efforts of highway facilities. This final web manual is the first of its kind assembled, specifically for transportation engineering applications.

This manual was prepared in cooperative effort of the CFLHD and Blackhawk GeoServices, Inc.
